This afternoon I attended Schumacher's Boston launch of LuLu deKwiatkowski's fabric collection,
LuLu DK | Child. This is the happiest, sunniest collection of fabrics I've seen in years. Pattern names like Butterfly, Firecrackers, Skittles and Stars evoke iconic images of childhood. LuLu paints her collection in a summer pallet of Punch, Pink Lemonade, Grass and Sky. Exactly what we needed on this chilly, rainy day.

Schumacher's showroom was swathed in yards of LuLu DK | Child fabrics and Ms. deKwiatkowski was on hand to meet and greet. She is as delightful as her fabrics!

Lulu eschews the sometimes garish pallet of primary colors too often seen in juvenile textiles. Instead, she pleases our eye with brights and pastels in corals, fresh greens, clean blues and turquoise; a palette that appeals to child and adult alike.

Lulu's hand painted designs are beautifully woven in eight prints and six embroideries, providing plenty of design options. Her embroidered tape, called Twix Tape (see it on the drapes in first picture), will be the perfect border on white linen Roman shades or on the skirt of a comfortable upholstered chair.

Obviously these enchanting prints and embroideries are perfect for the nursery and young child. However, I would not hesitate to use Cha-Cha, Ode To Matisse, Jelly Bean, or Firecrackers in a beach house, teenager's room, weekend home, a first apartment, wherever you'd like a casual and fresh feel.

Lighting is everything, these fabrics look fabulous in real life but here...
