our front yard, 4 feet of snow coated with ice thick enough to support the weight of an adult. really. |
My front yard (today) is exactly why yellow makes me happy.
In the grips of New England winters and far too early sunsets, yellow gives a room cheerful attitude and reminds me that Spring will come. Really.

Maybe you like yellow in small doses like Vicente Wolf and Laura Casey?

I'm usually not drawn to yellow as much as other colors but it definitely makes me long for warmer weather. And after seeing these beautiful rooms, I may have to reconsider my original thought.
ReplyDeleteWell, there are clean yellows, dirty yellows, sour yellows and creamy ones. I personally like a hint of orange in my yellows. Mom's latest idea is suggesting that I paint my bedroom "a pale yellow"... I am going more for a whipped apricot smoothie kind of color.
ReplyDeleteYellow has always been one of my favorites. I'm wearing a yellow boiled-wool sweater right now!
ReplyDeleteI love yellow. I have thought about painting my breakfast chairs like the Vicente Wolf photo. I see that you will be in NYC for Blogfest. I look forward to meeting you.
ReplyDeleteAmy,send us a before and after of your breakfast chairs!
ReplyDeleteLove this post, and those clearly oak chairs painted yellow, that is my new advice starting today!! Thanks for the inspiration, and the mention!!
