Southie Project

Design is pretty much like anything else in life. Everything rolls along and then there's a big change.

I started decorating a young couple's new townhouse. Now it is "get it ready for the real estate agent to take pictures."

So instead of the beautiful large mirror over the mantle and some other fabulous accessories we had in mind, I just "styled" it. The mantle is the first thing we see when opening the front door. Here's a before.

And after......

I found the four 14" mirrors on clearance at West Elm. The lantern on the left was a Marshalls find. I filled the client's pitcher with white lilacs and delphiniums (life-like).

New copper backsplash. I changed the kitchen cabinet pulls from standard stainless to a very nice hammered copper to go with the new copper backsplash.

.

And some other things.

As designers we have to be flexible. Our clients' lives can change in a hurry; we have to adapt!

  1. I like everything on the mantle EXCEPT for the artichoke thing...not into it. BUT I love the four mirrors, distressed lantern and flowers! Please post some more changes!

  2. I kinda like the artichoke thing-- but maybe it should be in the kitchen to play off the copper colors.

  4. Jess, I love that copper look too. Much warmer than stainless steel, or chrome.
